Day 10 - A Dainty Fairy

I'm trying a few back lit subjects - it's much harder with macro than an ordinary lens. I lit the fairy with one candle behind her and two leds either side. She's been dropped and broken a few times, but is a very tough little fairy, thank goodness for superglue!

  1. Very nice lighting you've achieved on this one and nice black background. And believe me, I am trying to think outside the box although admittedly I have yet to turn my monitor upside down.

  2. Backlighting is a beautiful effect and works well on winged creatures, especially pretty ones like this. Nice use of the black background for a stunning contra effect to that bright colour! Well done.

  4. Oh so pretty....I think she must live in the little pink flowers of the previous day....the backlighting is very soft and perfect for a fairy

  6. I like how the backlighting makes the wings look transparant and glowing.

  8. The lighting is magnificent. And the object used is fantastic.
A small fillet of reflected light around the hair leave the image with even more delicate. But it is very good! Congratulations.
