This leafy plant is grown more for the dark stripy purple leaves than it's flowers, here is a new leaf emerging. I've no idea what it's called, but I love it.

TRANSPORT!!!I'm attempting (again? must be MAD) to take an image every day for 31 days. My theme is transport especially cars which to be honest I've never photographed before except for a few wedding cars. I was thinking of doing 2 cars then another type of transport, and continuing in that sequence until the end of the month. You can click on any pic for a larger view. It looks like a canna lily to me. We have some by our pool and the flowers are showy but short-lived. The leaves are definitely more spectacular and I love this angle of it. Well done.

The colours from your shots are just fantastic they are so vivid. Is the leaf used to make a purple dye maybe for nail polish?
