Day 17 - A Dotty Chook
I had a wide choice of subjects for today, I ended up with this one as she is so cheekily perky. I bought them (I have a red one too) in the US on holiday. Chicken=chook in Au. More fun with lighting - even with macro pics the lighting is very important.
Here are the pair of them, I'm not sure where I found them, it may have been in Olympia WA as I was there for a few dayys and had time to shop. The bodies are made of hard paper like material and the rest is metal.

She is gorgeous, and very Yellow! Love the lighting with the bright spot graduating downwards through the frame. Like she's just waking up at sunset. Lovely work!
ReplyDeleteA lovely little chicken....is it a knick knack or does it serve a purpose?
ReplyDeleteThey are nick knacks - they sit on my kitchen shelf and cluck at me as I go past, I'm sure I've heard them.
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh - she is beautiful! So very cheerful, and I love her WINGS!!LOL!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWere in the US did you buy her/them? I would like to see the red one as well!
lol I like your chook very vibrant colours nice shot
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute chicken! And she's got such scrawny legs :) Those black things are legs, right? I love the way her head is tilted, just like what a chicken does when looking at something. I now know what the puzzle is, yay!
ReplyDeleteLovely cheerful image. Knowing what your puzzle is, I took one look at this and thought "yolk!"
ReplyDeleteIsn't she cute, complete with chicken legs! Nice lighting. :D
ReplyDeleteHAHA!
ReplyDeleteAt first, a zebra, after... two chickens!
I love these pieces and those interpretations of free form, materials and colors that artists can apply in their work. These chickens are sooooo cute! Congratulations and, more one time, sorry for having "skipped" this post too! Congratulations again!
Really cute looking chicken, great shot!
