Day 12 - Lady of the Light
I wanted to try some more back lighting, but this one turned into moody side lighting. She is made of glass and has pride of place on my desk when I need an extra lamp. I tried in the wee hours of this morning to get some shots ( like 40-50) of her back lit but gave up. Tried again this morning and with one go got this one, I like it with the deep shadows and highlights.

You are clever! Effective lighting is a mystery to me. If I don't have any daylight then I'm stuck!! I think you've achieved it really nicely - it gives off a sort of sombre moody effect.
ReplyDeleteYou have got a really strange and beautiful ghost-like feel to the picture. It's lovely.

ReplyDeleteAha! I know what the puzzle is :D
ReplyDeleteWOW WOW! For me the dominiun of light in this job is perfect and this one is the best shot in your gallery. I love how the light defines the contour of the image and the mistery we can see in all the icture. Fantastiemotion!!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteYou have such a great way with your lighting! I really need to try some lighting effects before the 31 days are up. Shes beautiful....and I still dont have a clue what the puzzle is. :(
ReplyDeletevery ghostly and beautiful...marvelous lighting
ReplyDeleteGorgeous lighting and the way it enhances her shapes and edges is beautiful. Your composition is great, but I feel that her head is too close to the edge of the top frame. It feels like it needs to be all in with a gap to the frame, or half out to crop in way closer. The way the curve of her head scrapes the edge of the frame just draws my eye along that lovely line and out of the frame... But I do love that glowing overall effect. Nice work!
